Safeguarding & DEI

Safeguarding and DEI sit at the heart of our Zero Harm culture. We are committed to protecting every learner’s well‑being while creating an inclusive, respectful environment where everyone feels safe, supported and valued.

Our trained staff, Safeguarding Persons and Mental Health First Aiders help ensure concerns are identified early and that all learners can thrive.

As an employer:

Apprentices face many of the same risks as learners in education, and may be more vulnerable as they adjust to working life. Employers have a responsibility to protect apprentices’ welfare, follow safeguarding legislation, and take action where concerns arise; both in and outside the workplace.

Employers are expected to:

Create a safe working environment and support apprentices through their transition into work
Comply with safeguarding legislation and understand what safeguarding looks like in practice
Ensure staff in trusted roles are suitable, including completing DBS checks where required
Act promptly on concerns and seek appropriate advice when an apprentice may be at risk

Safeguarding, Wellbeing & Inclusion in Action:

Diversity, Equality & Inclusion

As part of onboarding, alongside our safeguarding session, apprentices take part in an interactive exercise exploring different life circumstances and barriers.

The activity builds empathy, challenges assumptions and promotes equality and mutual respect, strengthening our inclusive learning culture from day one.

Time to Talk Day

For Time to Talk Day, led by the charity Mind, we hosted an informal wellbeing call for apprentices, creating a safe space to talk, connect and share simple ways to improve mental wellbeing.

This is just one of the ways we promote positive mental health and ensure apprentices know support is always available..
